Advice please

I previously posted this under the PS forum but since I'm pre-ps .  .hoping someone can share advice on body changes . . .

Had my VSG July 24, 2015.  Planned and paying off PS to be done September 2017.  Weight hasn't changed but my body sure is. Seems like everything is settling in lower (my loose pants at the same weight are tighter in the thighs and the butt is going flat).  Is this what happens normally?  Hoping I can stand waiting for the PS, but cannot do it sooner, either $$-wise or time-off wise.

Congrats on your weight loss.  Yes, what you are experiencing is normal.  As your weight loss time frame advances things will deflate and settle.  Things do shift around and may do it for a couple months as you hit goal and maintenance.  Your surgery time frame sounds good as your body may be fairly settled by Sept 2017 and you will get best possible results from the surgery.  My best advice to you is get as close to goal as possible and work on maintenance.  Being stable weight wise is the best advice before plastics.

Surgery: April 30, 2014: HW: 288 SW: 250 Achieved Goal 149 lbs: April 8, 2015 CW: 158 lbs (working on losing 65 lb regain as of June 1, 2021. Weight was at 215 lbs). Fighting every darn day!

thank you for your response.  actually i need to update my goal.  i'm completely comfy at my present weight and wish to maintain it.  at 58, my face was looking a bit haggard at a lesser weight and i'd like to stay where i am.  my plastic surgeon said i don't even need lipo on my flanks as there's no body fat.  i'm only getting a fleur-de-lis tummy tuck.  i'm a chicken and won't get arms or thighs done (so a breast lift is out).  i just can't wrap my head around the changes in my body at the same weight.

again, thank you for the response. september 1st seems so far away but it'll be here before i know it!

This is totally normal.  It's good that you're waiting for plastics because that'll give your body time to shift around and settle BEFORE having surgery as opposed to doing those things after having surgery!

gwen . . thank you for your reply.   i guess by the time september rolls around . . .with the additional shift, it'll be easier for my surgeon to pull and tuck .
