I am assuming I have a bleeding ulcer and I want to know if anyone has any experience with this? If so what do they do to treat it?? Would having the by pass stop the acid that is causing the ulcer? I"m really scared. I"m throwing up a good deal of blood. No food is coming up just blood and acid. I'm still taking my antacids but they aren't working. I need somehting else. I'm so scared so if any of you have any info please let me know.

This has been going on off and on for about a year

Please go to the ER.  Vomiting a "good" deal of blood is a big red flag that something very serious is wrong.

It could be more than an ulcer.

I"m scared to go. I'm scared of not going. I suppose when my son gets home with the car after his night shift I will get to the hospital. I'm so scared to go.

Go now.

If they don't find out what is wrong and fix this soon, they'll eventually find out what caused it during your autopsy.

Well look at it this way you either go to the ER under your own power or be brought in by ambulance because you have collapsed and are unresponsive.

Bleeding internally is a very bad thing and if you have told your surgeon about this in the past and he did nothing you need to find a new one.

Honestly you need to go now.  Sitting and typing about it is only making it worse.  Be scared with professionals rather than by yourself.  I wouldn't wait for a car - call and uber or an ambulance.

GO SEE YOUR SURGEON! This is not right. If your surgeon isn't doing something about this, you need to see a better doctor.

Do it today.

You need to go see a gastro doc. I had a large hiatel hernia and an ulcer, but was not throwing up that much blood for sure. In my case, the ulcer was treated with acid reducers and maybe antibioticss (can't remember exactly as I had different things going on at the time.) I don't think it is a done deal that you would be revised to Rny. In my case the cause of the constant acid was a very large hiatel hernia. When I had the gallbladder out, they repaired the hernia for the second time. Now if it herniates a third time, I am looking at a revision to let the acid not build up. Like you, really hoping to avoid that.

Get to the doctor. With symptoms like that they should get you in right away- be sure to share it with the person scheduling the appontment otherwise you might be looking at a 5 or 6 week wait.
