Hurting when drinking and eating

It hurts when I drink or eat anything. I'm over 2 months out the pain is getting worst. It started about 3wks ago, but only with food, but now I'm hurting when drinking protein shakes as well. I had an UGI yesterday and it was normal. It feels like everything I eat gets hung up in my esophagus and the top part of my stomach and causes server pain lasting 30 to 40 minutes. Had this happen to anyone else? I'm desperate to find what's wrong and try to fix it. I no longer want to eat the pain is not worth it.

I can't imagine what you must be feeling....so sorry that you're going through this. What does the doctor say?

I wish I had some kind of answer for you (as I'm not a medical person, I have no idea....besides which, if I were a medical person, I could not diagnose you without seeing you)...........but, I hope you get answers really soon and that your pain goes away.

Please keep us posted!

My doctor thought possibly that my stomach might have twisted sort of like a garden hose will do, but that was not the case.

It might be inflammed.  have you tried to go back to softs for a bit?  And warm fluids?

Yes I'm on soft foods and protein shakes now. I'm hoping that will help. If it doesn't I'm seriously thinking about going back to full liquids. I'm miserable, but still grateful for the surgery!!!

Are you eating /drinking rapidly? Are you consuming too much at once?
