It's official! After years and years of wondering and then researching and preparing-- I am scheduled for VSG on February 27. I thought about this for a looong time, and I am so excited and ready.

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks, and I'm glad to find people who know what this is like. Glad you are here. :)

That's great! What made you finally decide?

Welcome!  I wish you all the luck with your surgery. VSG was a great decision for me.

Have a great day!

Thanks, everyone!

Several things helped me decide to finally do this. First, I am 47 and single and am not ready to turn into my mother! I have such low energy, it's just a vicious cycle. Besides low energy, I'm starting to have other health issues- foot and leg pain, high blood pressure...

Finally, there has been a lot of research in the past few years about "the fat hormone" and how bariatric surgery is more effective than just diet and exercise for weight loss. And when you're 100 lbs overweight...

Excited!!

You sound like my twin... I'm scheduled for VSG 5 days before you (2/22) and need to lose 100 pounds as well. Welcome!

Congratulations! I had mine on the 1/23/17. You'll be so happy that you did. I still can't believe I've lost 8 lbs in 8 days. This forum and these people are wonderful and full of knowledge. If you can't find an answer here - I don't know where you'll find it.

Keep us posted.

Good luck! WLS is the best thing I ever did for myself.  And OH is the place to be for support and questions (use the search feature extensively).
