I had my sleeve done on Wednesday 2/1, and I'm just feeling well enough now to post. I've had major issues with nausea and throwing up.  The idea of looking at the small screen also was making me feel sick. Most of my pain seems to be a pain in the last day. I woke up  from surgery with significant pain from the incisions, but that is gone. I'm able to keep  water down. I tried drinking apple juice that I threw up right away. My doctor keeps patients in the hospital  for one night. I'm staying to because of my issues with nausea and vomiting.

Thank you to everyone who posted support on my wall. It is very appreciated.

Still having a significant amount of what seems to be gas pain. this is going to go away soon right?

Gas pain goes away fairly fast (at least in my limited experience). Walking around helped me tremendously with that. Hopefully the rest of your recovery will follow on quickly. Good luck with it!

Nausea was the worst part for me. It takes a few days, but it will soon be gone.

Walking is the best thing to get rid of the gas. And while it might be tough to drink, extra fluids will keep the nausea away. Dehydration just brings more nausea.

Happy to hear your sugary is done but sorry to hear you are having nausea. Nausea was my biggest issue too.  It will soon pass. Take good care and continuing to think of you.

Welcome to the other side... walk, walk, walk. What worked for me was sipping and walking. The first week was quite uncomfortable understandably so but it came to pass. Take your pain pills like clock work. Set an alarm if you have to, don't wait till you are in pain to take the pills. All will be well. Good luck with your journey.

The first week is AWFUL in terms of nausea and gas pain. Walk, walk, walk! I walked the gas away in about 3 days and only had discomfort at one incision point, but the nausea lasted awhile. Just go slow and slowly introduce things. They kept me an extra night because of nausea and vomiting too, and almost a third until I begged to go home.

I think it was 2-3 weeks before I could even handle plain water, and I still can't stomach crystal light or acidic drinks - warm chicken broth will relax your muscles and make you feel worlds better! Most drinks need to be room temp for me but now I can drink a bottle of room temp. water in about 15-20 minutes. I am a month out tomorrow and can't even remember the bad times anymore, even though it was practically yesterday! Hang in there!

I was sleeved him on 1/17 and I had the terrible nausea/vomiting too. I felt a lot better at 48 hours out and by day 6 I starting to take interest in food again (instead of just choking down a few sips). This too shall pass! It was the WORST part for me.

Congrats!! My nausea was being caused by the pain meds. I refused them and then the nausea went away. I was able to take something else orally that didn't make me sick.

I found out it was my anti nausea med that was making me super foggy headed. Once I stopped taking that, I felt SO much better and with it.
