Getting Cold Feet Again

6 weeks ago at my support meeting, someone mentioned sciatica nerve pain. I spoke out saying well, I don't have that but I do have other health issues. 2 days later guess what? Yep! low back sciatica pain that is hurting some awful. my legs are the smallest for my size. My poor hips and frontal thighs are so painful that I want to cry. On top of that I've come down with the flu. My scheduled appointments are coming along pretty quickly, but if I feel this awful after surgery, I hope not to get cold feet. I've done that twice before. Anyone have/had that hip and thigh pain?

Things hurt sometimes. Life is pain. But without surgery, in another 10 years and another 100 pounds gained, you would be in all kinds of agony.

Surgery is a little uncomfortable and a little painful. Super morbid obesity as you get older is excruciating.

I think some of this might be the Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon/frequency illusion.

I'm not sure why this would give you cold feet about surgery? Seems like it would do the opposite and be one more reason to encourage you to get surgery!

To clarify, this phenomenon is where one stumbles upon some obscure piece of information--often an unfamiliar word or name--and soon afterwards encounters the same subject again, often repeatedly.

For example, you don't see pregnant women too terribly often in public, but the minute YOU get pregnant, pregnant ladies are suddenly everywhere!

There's something clearly putting you off the surgery and maybe that's why you're suddenly experiencing this pain?

It will always be your decision and if you cancel again so be it.

I want through the who 6 month pre op program 10 years ago and then backed out because I couldn't imagine my life without unlimited food. Biggest mistake I ever made.

PS: I am steadily losing weight, off all my medication, fit into a size 14, and STILL eat plenty of food.
