Today marks one year since my first consult (with the jerk doctor who I never had a chance to meet because he resigned 2 months later). But that ended up being a blessing, because I found a better doctor, had my VSG and am currently down 103 lbs!!! I feel better than I have in probably 15 years and am almost back to the size clothes I wore in high school. In fact I tried on my old prom dresses and 1 fit and the other I managed to zip halfway..I almost cried. If you are thinking about surgery, Go for it! I only wish I could have done it sooner. I still have struggles (the head hunger does not go away) but I stick to my plan and take it one day at a time. Yes, I had to change my lifestyle and create new habits, but it is absolutely worth it..I am worth it! I can enjoy time with my family so much more. People are really starting to notice and compliment me on my weight loss. I feel like I am finally able to be myself and be the mom and wife who was always there, but trapped under all that weight. I can't wait to see where the next year takes me!
