Homemade Greek Yogurt- so easy now!!! Fairlife...

If you are a Greek yogurt eater there is a super easy way to make your own yogurt! If you take a container of Fairlife milk and add in a TB of starter and incubate it for 8 hours. No need to boil and then cool it first! It also turns out super thick so there is no need to strain off the whey- so easy!!!

I use my Instant Pot's yogurt function to incubate it. If you own an Excalibur dehydrator that will work, or there are also different DYI options you can do. Just Google- you just need to be able to hold the temp steady. Making your own saves not only a fortune but also avoids all of the extra chemical sludge that is used in commercial yogurts.

What do you use for 'starter'?

The easiest starter to get is to simply purchase a yogurt from the grocery store that you like and has active cultures in it. Fage for example. I also keep on hand dried culture for those times I don't have anything in the house. Once you have a batch of yogurt made, save a bit of it and you can use that as starter for your next batch. Use 1 TB per half gallon of milk. The higher the milk fat the thicker the yogurt. Fairlife (2%) is a little different, the higher protein makes for a very thick yogurt.

That is awesome! I am going to give this a try. I bought the Instant Pot for this function mostly but have not yet taken it out of the box. The straining was the part that put me off.
