Hey I'm new here. I will have VSG 12-11-17. Just curious on any tips for after... Such as are there any recommended tummy control garments or anything like that? Will I be in too much pain to wear anything like that? Thanks all. I've been reading and learning alot from you guys.

My VSG was in October. There was not a lot of pain at all. I was more comfortable in loose fitting knit pants while my incisions healed. I don't think you will want tummy control wear for a while. Good luck! You're going to do great!

My hospital gave me an abdominal binder. I loved it. It just held everything in and made walking more comfortable and let me sleep on my side.

I didn't have a choice, went back to work 1week later, & needed to be put together, so tummy control tights it was not comfortable, nor was my underwire bra. Both rested on incisions, not a good thing, but vanity superseded common sense. I healed well, just not comfortably. My advice is wear loose fitting as long as you can. Best of luck with the surgery!

I had my surgery one week ago today. My hospital also gave me a binder to take home. I used it for the first four days. It was the only thing that allowed me to sleep in my bed on my side, ( was able to sleep in bed the second night home, the first night was in the recliner). I have not felt the need to use it for three days now, my abdomen so much less tender now. I actually wore jeans for the first time yesterday and that amount of support felt just right. Best of luck to you! The time will pass quickly.

My hospital had me wear a binder and for me it was a huge help. It was good because of being adjustable so I could always ensure it was comfortable.

Had VSG on 9/28/15

Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!
