Thank you. Hospice was such a wonderful experience when my dad was dying, as much as such an experience can be called wonderful - as you, yourself, know. I'd really like to be able to give back in that capacity. I feel that our society is so death.. adverse? Avoidant? That we just don't have the skills to cope with it very well.

QOTD: When I was really good at the health and nutrition stuff I was obsessive about it. I made sure to check the box on every little thing: meals, water, vitamins, exercise (2 to 3 times per day), and most importantly continued education on all subjects related. I also spent a lot of time on this site. I had a slightly different life that gave me a bunch more flexibility but I feel like this past year or so I have let that become an excuse. My goal for 2018 is to get back to that obsessive mindset. Regardless of traveling or work I need to find a way to make this all happen again.

Morning! So far it's been a better day than yesterday. Things just went terrible yesterday and I was in an awful mood. I think it's true what they say about the hormones and emotions the first few months. I had so much anger all day yesterday it is truly overwhelming. I have no desire to eat or drink alcohol, but just feel like I cannot deal with anything. However, feeling much more "normal" today.

I had a great hike yesterday. No hikes today - it's so windy! Just a therapist appt and some errands.

QOTD: My main goal for 2018 is maintenance!! I've never maintained a weight for any meaningful period of time, so ths is my chance. And after I'm cleared for lifting stuff after next week's hernia surgery, I want to start strength training and working out with a trainer. I've never worked out in a gym before. And for the second had of the year maybe starting plastic surgeries? So much to do next year!
