Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Sunday February 4, 2018

Good morning! I'm not excited for the Super Bowl this year for two reasons: I don't want to watch the patriots tie our record (Steelers are the winningest team in the league as of this moment). The second is that this was always a day dominated by food. The amount of chicken wings and chips and pop I typically consumed on SB Sundays was ridiculous. However, my husband has promised me a foot massage every weekend for a month if I watch with him, so I agreed

B - Coffee & pp

L - still on an egg kick

d - tbd, I'm thinking shrimp since it's on hand

My best friend typically has a big SB party, but we are not going this year. Honestly, her parties are mostly about the food and beer, and the wife and I don'****ch sports...like at all.

Last year, I'm pretty sure I ate a cup of guac and my weight in chips and buffalo wings.

It seems to be easiest for me to just sidestep events that are mostly about food. I have a feeling resisting the food will never get easier when it's in front of me, but I'm pretty committed.

:-) it's nice of you to watch it with your hubby

Since almost everything social for DH and I includes food, I have had to learn to cope with it. Strangely I usually do pretty well on the eating (maybe because I eat my shrimp and get full). My snacking problems are when I'm alone and something is calling to me. DH brought home leftover chocolate cake recently. I generally don't crave chocolate stuff but this one was rather special. I got into it one night late and had to throw the remainder away the next day so it wouldn't keep calling me (DH didn't care).

I had a rough night with pain. Who knew that a new butt could hurt so much. So yeah, I'm not doing much today.

QOTD: I am rarely invited to food related get togethers at this point so I can't think of any recent dish I've brought to pass.

Food today will be yogurt w/ nuts, chicken breast, and my friend is making a brisket. My VSG programmed body is wanting nothing but PROTEIN. It's amazing how we do get into great habits.

I'm sorry you had a tough night. Hopefully there won't be more of them.

QOTD; We are having a small gathering here. I'm going to be grilling burgers. Toppings will be havarti cheese, bacon, grilled onions, grilled bell peppers, jalapenos and a bunch of condiments. My sweetie will be making her baked beans that always get requested.

B: leftover brisket from a local bbq place. Mine is waaayyy better so we won't be going back.

L/D: Superbowl food.

Exercise will consist of swapping out a ridiculously heavy pump at the carwash and mowing my 2/3 of an acre.

I'm here!!! I've missed posting although I have been reading! I had to get a new computer at work due to my position change and was without one for 4 days. I rarely log on to a computer outside of the work so that is why there was not much posting. This new job is a bit overwhelming right now. I have gone from being an individual contributor to having 5 direct reports in three separate states. At the moment I am questioning WTF was I thinking?

QOTD: My DH does all the cooking but we do have a couple of favorites we bring. We are going to some friend's house for SB and we are bringing the buffalo chicken dip, but bringing a veggie tray for dipping instead of chips. My DH is also making a spiralized zucchini salad to bring.

B: coffee w/HH + LF Greek yogurt w/100 calorie nut pack

L: LO burrito bowl from last nights dinner

D: SB snacks

Going to pass on other snacks as I know "dinner" will be a little high in cals and carbs.

E: going on a walk to the park with the kids

W/V: on track

Good morning! I don'****ch football, so I will be one of those people at the grocery store today:-) My brother is a huge football fan(Broncos) and has really big Super Bowl parties every year. I do record the game so I can see the half time show.

QOTD-Everyone at my monthly Bunko game really likes my chicken salad, so that is usually my go to potluck or party dish.

B-last of the protein pancakes

L-Turkey and string cheese rollups

S-Chai tea w/cream & stevia, snap peas

D-Inside of a pasty(made with leftover pot roast), veggie

E-Walk with Emmy

Have a great Sunday!
