Hi all! I have been MIA for the last two weeks as they have been incredibly hectic. A string of work changes and unfortunate incidents have left me very overwhelmed. Weight has been stable though, so that's good. I'm hoping things will swing upward soon. How are you guys doing?!

QOTD: What is your favorite holiday movie?

(I'll answer in the comments)

QOTD: I am a Christmas nut and I absolutely love Christmas movies. I strongly identify with Buddy the Elf, so Elf is tempting. I also really love The Holiday & Love Actually as well as many of the classics from when I was little. But for my very very favorite I'd have to say National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!

B - coffee & protein

L - broccoli & quinoa tabbouleh

D - veggie pasta

Good morning and thanks for starting the thread. It's pouring buckets here today - and cold is supposed to follow. I guess winter is coming (said in the Game of Thrones voice).

QOTD: I guess I'd have to say Elf or maybe Home Alone -both goodies!

B: about 1/2 a 2 egg omelet and 1/2 english muffin

L: planning on a salad with protein

D: Husband say's he's going to surprise me... so no idea.

E: nope, but the "bridge" to our caf has closed for the season so I have to basically do a big loop of the building whenever I go there - which isn't a bad thing. However, I got the first parking spot closest to the door today, so not so many steps there.

Hi Jess! Glad to see you back! Work is hectic and we're in full swing of holiday planning at home although our house is still a wreck from our continuing emergency construction.

QOTD: What is your favorite holiday movie? I really love the Grinch, both the old cartoon and the remake a few years ago and am looking forward to loving the new one too once we get to see it.

B: Coffee with cream

L: Bari Cereal

D: Bacon wrapped turkey breast, green beans

I was supposed to have lunch with a friend today but she had to cancel due to drama x2. Literal drama in the form of her child's school play. And then drama due to idiot parents. As a result, I have some extra time for school work! Which means extra time for procrastination! Woo!

I had a weird experience and I wonder if it happens to anyone else. I've been maintaining in the 150s for a while now and I recently didn't weigh myself for about 7 days. The first few days were due to really busy mornings (which also involved days that had more crap food than I'd normally eat) and then I found myself scared to weigh since I started thinking, "I'm going to step on the scale and it'll be 300 again." So then I didn't weigh myself for a few more days. When I finally did step on the scale again, sure enough, my weight was still in the 150s. But, omg, so much anxiety to overcome to weigh again.

Does this happen to anyone else? I mean, I know it's a scientific impossibility to gain 150 pounds in a week. Even if I could magically ingest half a million calories in a week, I doubt my body would be able to metabolism them all since I'd either poop them right out, die when my stomach exploded, or puke a lot. :P But, still, that fear is there.

QOTD: I can't think of any holiday movies. Except Die Hard, heh. I'm not a holiday movie person, I guess. We don't have a tradition of watching holiday movies in my family. I do know that this is the third winter holiday season since my dad died, and I'm finding it especially hard. I think I'd be happy just to skip forward to January.

1: protein shake
2: leftover frittata
3: leftover sous vide chicken thigh

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: running, yoga stretching

I completely identify with the fear around The Number. I'm still a newbie, but every time I'm away from the scale for a while I also start struggling more with body dysmorphia. I'll look in the mirror and swear I see signs of weight gain. I'll hop on the scale and it says I'm the same weight, but it's hard for me to believe.

I'm sorry this season of dealing with the loss of your dad is especially hard. My heart goes out to you.

Hey all. Thank you for getting us started. Having trouble getting going in the mornings at the moment. Have a class at the gym later tonight, hope my energy gets up there to go.

One of my friends saw the new Grinch and said, "I dug it; higher emotional intelligence than the original cartoon." I was surprised, since it doesn't appeal to me at all from the billion trailers I've seen.

The original one I hated, so thankfully the standards I have for this one are not super high.
