We are in the airport in Florida waiting for our flight home. So far everything is going well. We are looking forward to a couple of weeks with family.

QOTD: If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be? I would have convinced my oldest DD to change physicians when he kept ignoring her persistent symptoms. She likely would have been diagnosed with what is usually a very curable cancer earlier and might still be with us now.

2 Years 8 months post-op (maintaining below goal for 2 years)

Always lots of coffee...

B: P3 protein pack

L: Deli chicken

D: ? (Will be home)

S: nuts possibly

It's MOVIE DAY here! Lance is taking off work so that we can catch up on movies before heading north for our holiday trip. We're seeing The Favourite, The Mule, Vox Lux, and Mary Queen of Scots. My butt will be totally flat, but thankfully this theater has very comfortable seats and I started my morning off with pilates.

QOTD: I'm such a huge believer in paradox, this one is hard for me. I'll think about it.

1: protein shake
2: ramen at the ramen place
3: hopefully a protein bar instead of movie snacks

liquid and vites: on track
exercise: pilates

I think I would feel like I was in another world if I watched that many movies in a row! Enjoy!

I really want to see The Favourite and Mary Queen of Scots, have fun and give a review of what you liked!

The Favourite and and Mary Queen of Scots both reminded me of how little I know about British (and European) history. They were both excellent. The performances in The Favourite were phenomenal. The costuming in MaryQoS was stellar.

The Mule was also excellent. I was impressed with Clint Eastwood's performance and he wasn't the racist asshole he was in Gran Torino. His "issues" fell into the category of "I'm a 90 year old white guy and I use words that aren't okay to use, but once you tell me that, I'll stop, and I still treat everyone fairly kindly." I mean, his character has his issues, for sure, but I'm happy "racist asshole" wasn't on the list of those issues.

Vox Lux was the weakest of the bunch.

I'd be surprised if any of the four were nominated for best picture, but three of the four were still excellent.

Excellent review Gwen, thank you. The reason I wasn't going to see The Mule was because of his character in Gran Torino. Good to know he wasn't like that in this one. I will definitely see Mary Queen of Scots and The Favourite during Christmas week sometime. I watch just about every documentary I can find about British history, and I still know very little. There is way too much of it!:-)

If you read at all, the BEST historic author for accurate British FEMALE history is Phillipa Gregory. She has 6-8 ALL on the queens of England, their sisters, and lovers, all the family, in amazing beautifully written detail. You really feel bitter winters in a castle, smelly street trash in summer in hot Lonon, and all the court dynamics to stay successful. Talk about back stabbing. I am finishing one on Henry 8th 6th wife, Kateryn Parr, who I know little of other than the Henry 8th HBO series (kinda modern soft-porn and swearing) but they followed history least. anyway I adore her books, love the cover art, heart wrenching real events ( see www.phillipagregory.com)

Liz, I'm sorry for your loss; I know its a heartbreak that never fully heals.

I'm cleaning around my step-son, who leaves for his brother's today, getting ready for the next wave of family (3 daughters, 2 grands and SIL). I think everything is ready except laundry and remaking and disinfecting. (Stepson had a horrible cold).

We are doing our weird Christmas Saturday due to visitation and work schedules with the kids. It's always fun. I did "cheat" and asked a friend to do the tamales; just not quite up to it this year.

QOTD: If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be? Damocles sword. I don't know if I had done something differently it might have turned out worse. Or maybe it would have ended up the same. One of the mysteries is that we can't see outcomes on some things for a long time.

B: Chobani yogurt, 1/3 protein shake
