Well, I made it! Day 2 post-op! Feeling a bit better than yesterday! Still swallowing a lot of air though... that hurts when it goes down!

Each day will get a little better, be patient with yourself. Sip, sip, sip and walk around as much as you can. Every surgeon is different when it comes to using a straw, I was allowed to and it kept me from swallowing too much air. Hang in there!

Congrats on your surgery AND on Day two!

Those first few days can be challenging. The best things you can do are sip and walk. We repeat that like a mantra around here and I guess that's really what it is.

Work hardest on getting your fluids in so you don't end up dehydrated and back at the hospital. It may take a few days before you can get in the totals recommended but it's absolutely a priority and nothing will set you back farther if you let that go.

Having said that, enjoy being on the other side! Keep us posted as your new adventure unfolds. =)

Thank you! I had not though of that, I'll make sure to keep hydrated for sure!

Just in case no one warned you... if you get on the scale now you will probably find you've gained several pounds! That's because of all the fluids they pump into you. You'll probably lose all the water weight within five or six days.

I'll keep that in mind!

Yay! Everyday it gets better. I'm 12 days post op and I'm still learning as well. Sip, wait, and sip again. I bought a 2oz measuring cup to help me know how much I was drinking at a time.
