Hello,

Did anyone get colon cancer after having WLS (Gastric Sleeve)? Note: To be clear I'm not saying WLS cause the colon cancer.

Thank You

I never got colon cancer. I would think loosing weight would decrease your risk of cancer as obesity has been a factor shown to increase the likelihood of cancer. With all of that fat storage, it's basically a giant hormone storage tank in the fat cells.

Hi Ajeffries,

I was thinking the something.I had the gastic sleeve in 2013. I had stage 1 colon cancer, but didn't need further treatment after the mass was removed. Some people say it's from eating a lot of beef. I stop eating beef in 2014. Anyway Thank God I'm cured!

I googled it and there is an increased risk of colon cancer after weight loss surgery.
