how many inches did you loose?

I just took my measurements.. I have a 50-inch waist. I can remember being in grammar school with a 26-inch waist. I also remember that skinny people jeans are sized in inches ie- 30-inch waist. I was wondering if losing 20 inches from your waist is realistic...Have any of you done that?

Before surgery, I wore jeans in a size 24, which is a 45" waist. When I reached goal, I wore a size 2, which is a 25" waist. So it's definitely possible!

I went from a 39in waist (size 18) to a 26in waist (size 2 ). I think going from 50in to 30in is completely realistic.

HW 510 / SW 424/ GW 175 (stretch goal to get 10 under) / CW 160 (I'm near the charts ideal weight - wonder if I can stay here)

I've lost 7" off my waist and 6" from my hips in 6 months so I agree that it's doable.

So I'm almost 3 years out. I haven't measured in a bit, but I can say I went from wearing size 22 and 24 pants and 2x tops to wearing a size 6 Levis, size 6 Lululemon workout pants and medium/size 10 shirts.

I did find a pair of shorts I had from before surgery last year and was able to fit my entire body in one leg.

Keep on losing!

Thee are some people that even when they lose a lot of weight - they still may have stubborn abdominal fat. That may be due hormonal changes, past surgeries that affect that area, hernias, or past pregnancies that caused abdominal muscles separation creating belly pouch.

My friend had 2 large pregnancies, and after the second one she never could get rid of the belly fat, even though she was normal to skinny app 2 years post pregnancy. She needed PS with abdominal muscles suturing and liposuction to remove the "belly pouch".

Google "abdominal muscles separation" or " diastasis recti". That can happen as results of being MO, or having hernia, pregnancy, etc. Some may be improved by exercise, but some only surgery can fix.

my waist is 35", but then, I'm rectangular-shaped (36-35-38). The plastic surgeons I consulted with said it really can't get much smaller due to the way I'm built (boo!!). I don't know what my waist measurement was at my largest, but way more than that - I'm sure it was 50" - if not more.
