Hi all, I posted in the general forum, but then thought it would be best to post here as well... Any help is greatly appreciated. This question is for a friend of mine who is a VSG patient and has recently been told that she is going to undergo a revision to RnY due to being diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus. Have any of you had this diagnosis?

Is it like being diagnosed with GERD?

Barrett's esophagus is a potentially serious complication of GERD, which stands for gastroesophageal reflux disease. In Barrett's esophagus, normal tissue lining the esophagus -- the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach -- changes to tissue that resembles the lining of the intestine.
