Need to get back on track

I have had lap band surgery lost 85 lbs kept it off 5 years stay 213. Had a problem with the band and had to have it removed after 7 years gained 25 pounds.

Fast forward I had a revision to sleeve starting weight was 238 back in 2017. Only lost pre surgery weight plus 5 lbs lowest again was around 211.

It is not the fault of surgery they were successful surgeries. It is my fault for not following the rules. I am a huge sweet eater (slider food) also a very emotional eater. I do good all day until night time before bed. That is where I get most of my calories.

I am going to start the 5 day reset my pouch and follow the rules.

I will never give up. I know I can do this!

I am back to 238. I still have 60 lbs off from my band first surgery. I would love to be 179. I should be able to use my pouch to lose 60 by going back to the rules.

Need to adjust ticker!

Hi! You have a sleeve, not a pouch (people with RNY have a pouch). You will do yourself a disservice to do any kind of reset. When you're years out from surgery doing any kind of extreme restriction will just cause you to want to binge. You'll lose a few pounds and then gain it back when you inevitably eat ALL THE THINGS. Instead, get back to basics - 3-4ozs of dense protein and the rest low-carb veggies. If you're eating carbs leave them to last and do a couple tablespoons. You'll find the restriction really quickly with your sleeve that way!

Thank you, I guess that is why I keep failing every time I want to diet. I feel very hungry. And, I binge. I will start to eat right with dense protein and veggies. I am starting to post to make myself accountable to myself.

I too have a major sweet tooth but just lost a 20 pound regain by following WW. I needed the accountability, but I also found some great sweet satisfying recipes utilizing fruits which made me feel like I wasn't on a diet. I am happy to continue with the same eating pattern. I do still follow sleeve "rules" and est dense protein first to fill me up and never drink within 30 minutes after a meal.

Thank you Liz, I came back to this forum for advice and support. I have always have had a great experience with Oh and it has been a long time since I have been on! I actually remember you from 4 years ago because my aunt lives on Cape Cod and you had excellent results! Congratulations on your continued success 20lbs regain is normal after 4 years. I am glad WW has helped you with your continued success!

OH helped too. I lost my DH at the beginning of this year and the year prior was extremely difficult.

I have participated in an OH VSG maintenance group since I reached goal in 2016 and I find the RNY daily menu thread to be super helpful when I want to be vigilant.
