First seminar tonight
Ok, heading down to Grand Rapids Mich tonight to attend my first seminar. Can I expect to gain much info or do they just cover the different types and such? Its only suppose to last 1 hr which seems pretty short?

I wouldn't get my hopes up too far. It's just another block to check. You probably already know 99% of what they'll cover. Smile and nod when appropriate.

I enjoyed my first seminar. (Had to attend seminar #2 when I switched surgeons.... that one was just so-so). At seminar #1 the surgeon spoke, a bariatric nurse spoke, then 2 patients who already had wls spoke. I learned soooo much from those patients. The surgeons & nurse can give you info but there's nothing like talking to someone who's "Been there, done that". Write down any questions you have. Good luck! Cindy

Glad your wife is going too - its so important that she hears the same thing you are. She may also come up with some questions you haven't yet. Not sure if this is a group pre-WLS meeting or a group meeting for everyone?

Yep I was glad she went too cause shes got the better memory :-) Plus she always has good questions to me and input too.
She at first before we went liked the sound of the DS, but after listening to the Surgeon she was like, I don't know about that one now LOL
But as usual we went out to eat afterwards and I stuffed myself and hated myself for it afterwards too which I know everyone here knows exactly what im talking about

i thought i got lots of info at the seminar but that was just a drop in the bucket compared to the info i got during my 6 months of jumping through the insurance hoops.....my seminar is what made me decide to go with RNY instead of the lapband! do what you have to do....sit back...hold on and enjoy the ride!!
