I think we obviously need to alter our "modern' diet. The older agrarian based diet doesn't work well for us. Dietitians and the feds need to start thinking outside their tidy little boxes and do studies not just theorize 'til the cows come home.

Interesting but not surprising.
Just look at the statistics from the US from the 1960's on when fast food, processed food, sugared soft drinks, etc started infiltrating our diets...
Unfortunately there's too much money in it for it to stop, but at least some of the fast food places are trying to offer healthier choices. Its up to the consumer and their discipline whether they choose them or not.
