RNY and colonoscopy prep

Sorry for the gross nature of this topic but...

I'm having a colonoscopy this morning.  My doctor doesn't use prescription meds for the prep.  Instead, she has us take 3 dulcolax (I take two every night anyway) and drink a bottle of Miralax in 64 oz of liquid.
I followed the protocol exactly.  Had only liquids the whole day, then began the miralax ****tail at 5 pm.  I've had colonoscopy before and the prep usually has me on the toilet non stop for hours!  This time I only went a few times.  I'm actually concerned they will cancel the procedure because I'm not "cleaned out."

Anybody think this is related to RNY?

I hope they don't cancel...that would be frustrating. Good luck!

I wondered the same thing about the bowel prep I did prior to my hysti. Same liquid mag citrate but didn't have near the umph as it did pre-op. Maybe it's our rerouting.

guess it was because they did the colonoscopy and the report says the prep was "adequate".  LOL  I'll take it, especially since the report also says everything was normal-yeah!

I don't think it has the umph either - when I had to "clean" out for my TT.. I was the same way, but it was ok.

Hope they don't cancel on you!!

 Thanks Jody,

Seems like we all agree the surgery must have made some sort of difference!  Luckily they didn't cancel and the report was good too.

I haven't had to clean out for anything, RNY, hernias, knee lately so I don't know.  Good luck though and I hope you don't have to go through it again.

 Thanks Price,

Everything turned out fine and I got a clean bill of health.  Plus, because of the liquid diet (if you think about it, it is sort of the first day of the 5day pouch test) I lost 4 pounds.   I'll take it!  LMAO
