Here's my method for lump free protein coffee:

1 - 20 oz shaker cup with wire ball
4 to 6 oz of 1/2 & 1/2, water, or milk
1 to 1 1/2 scoops of IDS Vanilla-Cinnamon protein powder
{shake} until blended
Pour into large mug
Add 9 to 10 oz of hot brewed coffee (decaf or reduced caffeine)
{stir}

Add hot liquid to cold liquid to avoid lumps. Keep the protein slurry below 160 degrees.

The key is mixing up your protein powder and liguid of choice.

Then heating up your coffee and slowly adding the hot to cold.  I sometimes will then microwave the mix for about 15 seconds to heat it up more.

Good luck!!

 I am on vacation and we only have instant coffee and I have to boil the water.  To dissipate the heat I pour the ho****er down the back of a spoon into the protein milk slurry.  The spoon gets pretty hot but no lumps!

 Hi Tammy!

I hate protein coffee but like protein cocoa.

I mix cold water and powder in a wire ball shaker cup. Pour cold liquid into mug and micro for 30 seconds, stir and repeat, generally 3x.  If I don't stir between 30 seconds, it clumps.

I mix warm water, about 1/2c and 1.5 scoop of protein powder with a spoon until smooth.  Most mix pretty easily.  Then add to coffee like you would a liquid creamer.  I use that much in 2, 36oz cups of decaf.  I mix my hot chocolate the same way.

 Yeah! Because of all your tips I had a great cup of protein coffee this morning. Dissolving it in water prior to mixing with coffee was the trick!!!
Thanks all
