Since tomorrow night begins the Chanukah holiday, I'd like to pass on holiday wishes to everyone. Go easy on the latkes but enjoy the candles and a piece of gelt.

Happy Chanukkah to U too Janet !

I wrote a post about the difficulties of trying to celebrate Hannukah here in largely Arabic Bay Ridge Brooklyn .... where many of us recieved anti -Semitic hate mail for the last two years because we didn't have Christmas lights and also about our brave little Chabad house that's changing perceptions steps away from the subway station where religious ladies wigs were snatched off a few years ago . Ofcourse my post promptly disappeared as i was WRITING It lol .

This year many of the same neighbors have blue light decorated Hannukah bushes outside their doors ...

To me all the difficulties make me even MORE appreciative of my peaceful and wise Jewish tradition that tries to change the world through unconditional love and acceptance , never negativity or force ...
