I started tracking my food and exercise yesterday with myfitnesspal.com it is very easy to use. So far I am coming up under the calorie count. Will see how I do today. I was going to go work out today (worked out yesterday) but cramps have slowed me down. Onward, upward! Rose

I've been tracking on paper but just went to myfitnesspal.com a couple days ago and YIKES!!!!!!!!!  Way too many carbs.  In processes of altering my meal plans.  I wondered why I couldn't shed a few lbs though I was eating very healthy.  Now I know.

I love myfitnesspal even if I'm only using it periodically now. It helps to enlighten. Just spoke with my nutritionist. Many people add calories/carbs, etc., in an upward fashion as the day progresses to the point that the evening time is loaded but because of myfitnesspal, I've learned I'm the other way around. I load my breakfast the most about 85% of the time. It's my biggest meal. It's interesting because I have my milky coffee drink late in the afternoon and then I seem to feel so satisfied after it that I easily go 4 to 8 hours before having an evening meal which is usually light. My NUT states that most research and observations show that after a liquid (whether coffee or other), WLS patients often feel unconsciously unsatisfied and start eating more calories to get to that feeling of fullness.

If it was not for myfitnesspal, I would have not seen that pattern. My coffee is not that bad. It's working in my favor. I'm so satisfied I don't want to eat afterwards.

I need to go back to tracking every so often.  I have found even if I don't track, if I pull out the scale and actually use it, it is pretty enlightening.  It is amazing how easily one ounce becomes 2 as you get further out.

Saw my psychiatrist and she told me that 2 of the medications I am on cause weight gain. I have been taking them religiously the last few extremely stressful weeks. I am going to back off taking them, not completely stop but be very mindful. They are for anxiety.

Before I told her about the weight gain she said she was concerned about how much of the meds Ive been taking because they mess with you metabolicly (sp).

I havent gained any in a few days, Thank Goddess!

This is just a suggestion but you might want to hold off cutting back for awhile.  I don't suffer with any kind of anxiety or depression but for about 3 weeks I was very emotional.  You might have all kinds of mixed emotions the next couple weeks because of hormone changes and the medication might help you.
