pre-op diet weight loss

I've been on the pre-op diet and have surgery in two days. I had the opportunity to weigh today and I was disappointed when I learned I had only lost seven pounds. I've read so many stories about folks losing so much more during this phase. I understand (and have read) that everyone loses at a different pace, but dang.......liquids for two weeks and only seven pounds.  I am disappointed, but not deterred. Two more sleeps!

Don't worry, if you could lose weight without surgery you wouldn't be here. Lightweights don't even need a pre-op diet. Hang in there.

My pre-op diet was for 4 weeks and I think I only lost 8 lbs.  Remember now and after surgery, you are going to loose fewer pounds that our heavier friends, but your % of excess weight lost will be the same or better.  Look at how many/few pounds you have to lose in comparison to them.  If you lost 40 lbs the first month like some of them do, you would be at goal in 2 months.  That isn't going to happen.  Take your measurements.  Hang around here.  We know what you are dealing with and some on the other boards don't.  That is why the light weight board was started.

I'll be sliding down the loser's bench for you.  Heres to a text book surgery and a boring recovery.

Mine was for 2 weeks also and I think I lost around 8-10.

You probably don't have as much to lose as someone that you read about that lost lots of weight.  Don't get discouraged you will drop it after the surgery.

Good luck!!

Only 2 Sleeps......Awesome!!!!!

I was very good and only lost 6 pounds during my 6 month insurance required time and that included my 2 week pre-op.  In a way I think it's better because I didn't stall soon after surgery because my body didn't need to take a rest from losing to much.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
