Benefit of WLS.  They only talk about RNY and Band, longer life by those who have WLS and lose weight!  Wish they included the Sleeve and DS in the study, or at lease mentioned other options.

I know my health has improved and I have added years to my life....#1 being my sleep apnea is gone.

I don't understand why the media so consistently misses the latest - how many years now have people been getting DS and VSG?  and when they do mention VSG they are still saying experimental.

how out of touch can they be? this is the age of the internet, there is really no excuse for this!

I agree. vsg needs to be more publicised. The other night Dr. C said he thought in 5 years no one would be doing the band any more. He used to be very neutral about each surgery but has become increasingly less encouraging on the band and more pro vsg. We all know its the best. Always hate seeing anyone get rny when the sleeve works as well and is so much easier. Someone needs to set that reporter straight. diane
