Scales are going bouncy bouncy. WW weigh-in is this morning after yoga class. BTW, I never remember what the WW scales say week to week.

I really like those Kodiak high-protein blueberry muffins. Thanks again, Ceci, for that suggestion.

Yesterday it rained most of the day, and I didn't leave the house at all. It felt so cozy here.

BTW, have I mentioned that I'm NOT going to NOLA for Mardi Gras? To tell the truth, I'm mostly relieved. Yes, I'd have loved it if my NOLA friends were not in bad health / engaged in caregiving. But this just isn't the year for it. This way I can work on stabilizing everything before my surgery in mid-March.

I have nothing else worth reporting. That's a good thing, isn't it?

Weight 130, WW blue points 8. I was sure I would be under 130 this morning. I hope the WW scales agree with mine so I will squeak under lifetime max by .2 pounds.

Ann, if you have the WW app, you can find your weigh-ins by clicking the silhouette in the upper right hand corner. I'm sure you have mixed feelings about NOLA though. I would!

Today I obviously have my WW weigh-in (after walking) and tonight we have a dinner at our clubhouse which we will go to with all our friends. Not sure what we will be eating, but I will dance with my friends.

Have a good day!

Liz, thanks for the WW app tip ... never noticed that little silhouette do-hickey before.

I never add back fitness points either.

Have a great time dancing ... it's my new favorite exercise (besides sea-kayaking, which I'm not doing any of at the moment).

:)

  1. Within Range: NO ! 1.8 over !
  2. Blue SmartPoints: 22
  3. General Wellbeing: 8
  4. FSF: walking
  5. Yesterday's Insights: Building muscle and lymphedema are NOT a rationalization, but a reasonable cause.

So much for the first week of working toward WW lifetime status. I spent so many years rationalizing to protect myself, that now I feel guilty reviewing reasonable causes for my 2.6 pound gain. I've been great with points, fasting a minimum of 13:11, and I had 35 Fitness points last week I didn't touch and I ended up with 18 unused weeklies. I've upped my strength training and elliptical work, on alternate days, and I know I haven't had enough water to drink. Fingers and legs are retaining water. All I can do is stay the course, enjoy tomorrow nights Valentine's dinner and keep on keeping on. For those of you on WW, how does my point use compare with yours ? Another 4+" of snow today, so some shoveling in my future. Below zero temps and even lower wind chills tomorrow.

The last two weeks I have averaged 21 blue points (varying from 8 to 41). Last week I lost 2.2 pounds and this week .8 pounds. But I was up by .6 the week before the 2.2, so I don't think I truly lost that much.

ETA: I never add back fitness points.

Diane, you're using up a LOT FEWER points of all kinds than I am. But if you're doing strength training and elliptical work (and that's a relatively recent addition to your life) you are most definitely building muscle, which would retard any weight loss that appears on the scales.

My own higher exercise level since early January is the major factor I've ascribed to my slow weight loss progress (7.6 pounds in 5 weeks), although given how many more clothes I wore at the first WW meeting, it's probably more like 6 pounds lost in 5 weeks.

Right now I don't care how slowly I'm losing. I am mostly wanting WW to help me expand the diversity of foods I'm able to eat in moderation.

Interestingly, at today's meeting our leader talked about how time-sensitive goals ("I will lose 20 pounds by Memorial Day") set folks up for disappointment and critical self-talk.

Also, for many folks there's a tension they feel between pre-goal and post-goal eating. Looking forward, I probably won't be eating much differently after I reach goal than I am eating now. Maybe a few more starches, but that's about it.

DianeO ... I just realized you want probably wanted more specific info about my points usage. Mostly, I use up all my daily points (on Green I get 30) and half or more of my weekly points (I get 35).

Snort, snort! I'm a points pig! :)

190.8 still bounced up. It's okay

Diane I usually eat most of my points for the day (30) and don't usually eat weeklies (42) unless it's something special and then it's usually just one day. I don't do activity ones either. Some days I'll roll over a few points. My money would be on you just retaining water. Gaining muscle takes a very long time for not much of it, but muscles retain water like no one's business when you're recovering from working out especially if it's more than you're used to.

Last night's musical was so cute and really Broadway quality. The sets were fantastic, the singing terrific, and the story very sweet. Exactly like Shop Around the Corner. Maraczek's and all.

This morning somehow I seriously overslept. So I have to run to catch up. The cleaning people are coming soon and my house is a disaster! Bye!

Flying past again - Morning All

Leaving at 8am to take my mum to a specialist appointment, then I will have a Knee Xray in preparation to see the surgeon next week.

Builders will be back soon. One had to leave after a few hours as his daughter was sick. Will be glad to get the house clean and back in order but that wont happen for another week or so. Plumber cant come till Monday morning to do all the connections. I spent 1.5 hrs after work yesterday scrubbing cupboards/drawers etc - got about 1/4 way thru. Its coming up nice. Had a new cavity built to house the fridge which was plastered yesterday - will work well. And I will get some overhead cupboards built to go in there. Flooring sample is on its way. Here are some pics - bit different :)

This afternoon will be more cleaning then Im going to a school friends 50th birthday before we drive up to the farm during the night. Marcus the Bull is being delivered to stay with our girls a while and we need to double check the fencing etc - hes a true UNIT

Love to you all :)
