Personal Trainer

I started working out with a personal trainer a few weeks ago and I can already see and feel the difference.  Althugh I was working out on my own, it has really helped to have someone with knowledge come in and show me how to do it the right way.  When you decide to hire a personal trainer, yu need to check them out and make sure they are qualified to help you.  It is easy to say you can do something, it is another thing to do it right.    Do not be afraid to ask for their certifications.  Ask them questions avout what kind of training they have had and make sure that you are a good match.
Ask for a free consultation before signing up for any services.  Talk to them, make sure they are going to fit your needs.  My trainer came in for a free consult and sat with me for almost 2 hours to discuss our plan of attack.  She took measurements, did a body fat check anf asked madical questions.  She is versed in nutrution, certrified in kickboxing, zumba, yoga, pilates and weight training.  Sje also works with me on cardio but it is pretty hard to mess up a treadmill and eliptical machine.
I very much apprecate her expertise.  She has helped me a lot and brought my work out to new levels.  ME

WLS
February 21, 2011 8:49 am
Hi everyone.  My name is Margaret White.  I live in Javkson ,NJ and have started this group to help support others that have had or are having WLS.  It is about good health, good choices, and feeling good about yourself.
I have had a weight problem all my life.  I would go on a diet and lose weight.  i would go off the diet and gain it all back and then some.  One day I woke up and realized that I needed to do something.  I had to make some good decisions and change my lifestyle or I was not going to see my children grow up. I decided to have WLS, Gastric Bypass to be exact.  I went to a seminar and met with the surgeons.  They told me that because of previous surgeries and complications I would not be a candidate for GP.  I would do well with a LapBand and so I decided to go in that direction.   Was I disappointed?  Of ourse I was.  I knew that GP patients lost weight quicker and that is what I wanted.  Do I regret my decision at this time?  absolutely not.  I had my surgey on 04-30-10 and have lost 85 pounds to date.  I have more to go but I am very happy with these results.  AS Mick Jagger said "You don't always get what you want, but you'll find you get what you need".  This procedure was less invasive and I had a very quick an easy recovery.
I think that no matter what procedure you have, you have be mentally ready for the decision.  The most important rule of the surgery is that it is just a tool, you still need to do all the work.  But the good news is, it really works when you work at it.  It is something that you see the results.  They are tangible and make you feel good.  Every time you need to buy clothing becasue your old ones are too big or someone looks at you and says "wow"; it makes it worth every ounce of chocolate you give up or every slice of bread.
Never give up.  Be positive and know that you will succeed.  WE are here to help you reach your goal.
