My GP suggested by-pass surgery in Jan./07,being tired of my constant struggle to become a heathy weight.I did some research,and foung..Western Surgical in Scottsbluff,Ne.(Dr.Forney & Dr.Holloway.)Best thing I ever did,I went to a weight loss seminar on the different surgery's they peform.Dr.Forney was the speaker to represent the doctors.He said ,after a few years of their research they've found the long haul results between by-pass and lap-band to be pretty much the same.Lap-band being a little slower to get to your goal,but the end result the same without a lot of the risks associated with bypass.So.........Being the chicken that I am....my lap-band surgery is next Tues.June 12/07.Let me just add.You couldn't find a better group of people working for and with you to get your Insurance to approve you.After Malinda(Western Surgica'ls Ins.specialist) faxed my info to my Ins.Co.(Humana Gold)I was approved three days later.Also I did do as they suggested and call Humana to let them know the doctors were sending info for approval for weight loss surgery.And I flat told them some of the personal problems I was having.I actually felt I was talking to someone who cared.I cried when I received my approval letter in the mail.My husband knew who it was from and asked what was the matter..."Did they turn you down?"I said no,he said "Then why are you crying?"I sais"because they said yes!"He said,"Idon't understand."I said,"That's because you're not the person in this body."
