Hey everybody, I am home. Surgery was the 22nd, and I was discharged on the 24th. Because I lived more than 1 hour from Carson City, I had to stay in the area until the 29th.
I stayed with my sister-in-law in Yerrington, and she and her family took wonderful care of me. I stuck to clear liquids, popsicles, jello, and a tiny bit of yogurt until the 27th. I certainly was not hungry, but knew I had to "eat" something. Anyway, on the 27th, I took the plunge and she fixed me a scrambled egg. Yummmmm....... Nothing ever tasted so good.
So, I am now 8 days post-op, and doing good. The Jackson-Pratt drain and staples came out yesterday, and I got to come home. That drain was no nice thing coming out. Flashbacks to the movie Alien kind of relate here.....
I haven't had any nausea, vommiting, or other problems. I do seem to have a hard time getting enough water drank during the day though. But, I keep plugging away. Probably the most I have drank in 40 ounces in a 24 hour period.
So, I will post again next week. Oh, by the way, I am down 18 pounds from my initial weight with Dr. Skogerson... woo-hoo.......
