Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 87 pounds!!! Good luck!

Congrats Christy. It's great to hear that you're doing so well. I'm very pre-op at this point, and certainly identified with all the fears and concerns you expressed in your post just before your surgery. Now that the procedure is past, you can concentrate on your new life. Best wishes to you and your family.

Hi Christy I am thrilled to hear you are doing so well. My big day is Monday and the butterflies are setting in. Soon I too will be on the losing side. Can't wait. WILL keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a quick and uneventfull recovery. Deb

Christy, i'm so glad surgery went well! I believe that you had surgery with Dr Rohrscheib. He was my surgeon as well and I have done wonderfully! I had my surgery 1/28/03 and have lost 118 pounds and have gone from a size 26-28 to a size 6. I went to Walmart yesterday and bought a workout suit off of the clearance rack and I actually bought smalls in the pants and top!!!! Woohoo!!!!! This is the 1 st day of the rest of your life. Take it easy but remember keep moving and eat or drink that protein!!!! Welcome to the family! Love ya, Kim Collins P.S. when you go back to the doctor tell him I said hi. I was there in January and I did not get to see him because he was off so I got to see his sister (the other Dr Rohrscheib).

I just wanted to let you all know Christy is home and doing well. Here is part of a message I received from her husband: Christy is out and doing as well as can be expected. Her surgeon opted to do an Open RNY. The insision is about 7 inches long and looks super. It is nice and straight and not as big as we would have expected. It took a day or two for chris to get her o2 level up to an acceptable rate. It hung at 75 - 84 for about 24 hours and she wasplaced on a Cpap/bi-pap machine and as soon as they pulled her off of most meds her sats shot up to 97. She made frequent laps around the floor that she was on, making up to 8 walks a day. Occasionally she would stop at the nurses station smile and breat in and out deeply and remind them that"This is deep breathing"....

I am still waiting to hear from Christy's husband on how she did with her surgery. I am sure she did fine! Please fill her Support Page with lots of Get Well Wishes. I'm sure she would to come home to them! I will post how she did as soon as I hear something.
