What to do?! about scheduled surgery date...

So, I have a scheduled surgery date for the RNY on Dec 8th. My insurance will not cover the procedure I wanted locally.

After some research and phone calling, I now have a second surgery date of Dec 18th, all the way across the country for the procedure I hoped for (DS) covered under the military facility there.

I am trying to figure out all the details to see if I can make the financial and schedule work for me to get to the West Coast by the preOp date of Dec 14th!

I would have to find a wy to fund the airplane tickets for me & three kids, my husband will be deployed to the Mid East for a year.
