Six months blood work

Jan 12, 2009

I got the results from my six months blood work and my B6 was too low.  So I am now taking B6 per my surgeons instruction.  My B12 was doubled too high, go figure.  All is well, I am 185 pounds, down from 257 which is a loss of 72 pounds.  I feel such a sense of accomplishment.  I know wear size 14 clothes, down from size 22.  I am having to give away all my clothes and buy new ones.

My goal is to get down to 140-150.  Many are telling me that I am too small and that I don't need to lose anymore weight, but being 5'3, 185 pounds is still considered obese according to my BMI.

I don't think it will hurt to lose a few more pounds.  Well I feel great and what to encourage anyone who is considering this surgery, that I would do it again in a heart beat.  Talk to you soon.

I had a visit with my surgeon, November 27th.  I am officially in Onderland.  Down from 257 to 197.  That is a loss of 60 pounds.  My doctor stated at the visit that I should be somewhere between 150 - 160.  That is fine with me.  I am now wearing a size 14 pants.  I need a 16 top because of my arms, but they are going down too.

I think a goal of 150 will be good for me.  I don't want to look to small.  I think that Starr Jones started to look sick.  I don't want to look like that.  Anyway.  Thanks to all of you who have supported me.

Down 60 pounds 47 to goal.

Feeling Fine

Oct 27, 2008

I weighed today and my current weight is 203 pounds.  Down from 257.  That is a wl of 54 pounds.  I am right on track.  I will be 4 months post op on November 16th.  According to my weight loss chart I am supposed to be at 201 by November.  I will be lower than that by November 16th.  It is my plan to be under 200 closer to 190.  To God be the glory.  However, I eat lots of fish and beans.  I want to add more protein drinks to make sure I am getting in my 70 - 80 grams of protein.  I must also increase my water intake.

I was able to put on a size 14 pants the other day.  I am wearing 18's but they are getting too big.  So I would say that I am between a 16 and an 18.  My underwear is really big.  Got to go shopping.

Thanks for listening.

UPDATE

Sep 09, 2008

I am 7 weeks out and have lost 36 pounds.  I am very happy.  I have already gone down almost two dress sizes.  I am tolerating my food well and have not dumped.  When people see me that look at me strange.  I guess they are wondering what is going on.  Some have said wow you look good and others have said, you lost weight.  I feel great.

I am learning how to use my new pouch.  It actually let's you know when to stop.  This is awesome.  However, I have to step up my game in regards to exercising.  I have slack a bit with my walking.  I will resume that on today.  I walk about two miles.

Well I will keep you posted with my progress.

I got approved!

Found out last week that Kaiser assigned me to GW in Washington DC.  I attend Holy Cross Hospital's classes and met the surgeon's there.  I prefer Holy Cross.  I asked my nutritionist if I could be transfered to Holy Cross for my surgery.  She is checking and should let me know today.  I really don't want to go to GW.  But If I have to I will.  I spoke with the coordinator at Holy Cross and she stated that my surgeon has already started booking surgerys for June, 2008.  I will keep looking up.  I GOT APPROVED  YEAHH!

I Got Approved

Apr 03, 2008

I have been assigned to George Washington Hospital Dr. Lee.  However, I would prefer going to Holy Cross.  I spoke to my nutritionist and she is checking to see if I can go to Holy Cross.  I attended all the meetings and met the surgeon at Holy Cross.  I felt really comfortable with them.  I really don't want to go downtown DC to George Washington.  i
