Major Changes!!

135 lbs.
A lot has happened since the last time I posted. About 3 weeks after I had my hysterectomy, I had to have emergency surgery and have my gallbladder and my appendix taken out. I was having severe gallbladder attacks. The doctor was pretty sure that it was my gallbladder and thought it best to go ahead and take my appendix as well. It's a darn good t hing he took my appendix out. When the pathology report came back, it showed that I had a carcinoid tumor growing in my appendix, which does not exhibit symptoms, so it is possible that I would have never known it was there. He said that it could have become cancerous.
I have lost 92 pounds and I am wearing a size 6 in jeans and a size small in shirts. I was always at a healthy weight until the last 7 years when I didn't take care of my diabetes and let my weight get out of control. But even at a "healthy" weight, I wasn't a size 6. I haven't been a size 6 since highschool. Of course now, I am a lot more jiggly than I was in highschool, but that's okay. I can't believe how much better I feel. The main thing I notice is that I am sleeping so much better. I have a lot more energy and I even took on a second job. I am a server at a nice steakhouse, which is a very fast paced job that keeps me on my toes.
I am so grateful to God that I have been blessed with this surgery. I haven't had any complications, other than having to have my gallbladder removed and a hernia. There is one thing that I do NOT like and that is the massive hairloss. I have easily lost at least half of my hair, which is not good considering I didn't have a lot to start with. I am almost a year out and I am STILL loosing A LOT of hair every day. A friend of mine, who is a hairdresser, swears it's because of me having 4 surgeries in 7 months and she says the anesthesia will make your hair fall out. She says that it takes about 6 months after surgery for your hair to stop falling out. If that's true, my hair should stop falling out at about Christmas time. I do have new hair coming in, but sadly even the new stuff is falling out.
I hope to update my pictures sometime this week. I have been so busy working 2 jobs that I don't have a lot of time.

I am feeling much better. Still very tender and the staples look infected, so they are very sore. I get them taken out tomorrow morning. I am very ready for that.
Hysterectomy!!!
Jun 15, 2007
152.4 lbs
I had an abdominal hysterectomy last Thursday and it has knocked me on my bootie. It has definitely been worse than gastric bypass. I have about an 8 inch incision just above my pubic bone. I have been in A LOT of pain.
Weight loss has slowed waaaaayyyyyy down!

I have about 20 more pounds to go until I am at my goal. At this rate, it is going to take me quite a while. I don't want to complain though. I am so happy with the weight loss that I have had and I know that it will get better.
I am scheduled for an abdominal hysterectomy and bladder suspension next Thursday. I hope that goes well! I hope that I don't lose more hair because of the anesthesia and the surgery. I have been told that anesthesia can cause some hair loss. I can't afford to lsoe any more hair.

30 Pounds from my goal!
Apr 11, 2007
165.2 pounds
I think my goal is 135 pounds. I haven't weighed 135 in so long. I don't want to be too thin so if I look healthy at 140 then I will stop there. I am just so excited to get there. My hair is still falling out so bad. I sure hope that it stops very soon. I am losing a ton of hair. I can't believe how much better I am sleeping. I never realized how much sleep I wasn't getting. I tossed and turned all night because the weight would push on the nerves on my legs so they would go numb and I would have to turn over all night.
Progress!

I noticed that on the weeks that I get more fluids in, I tend to lose more weight. You would think that would be inspiration enough for me to get my fluids in. I am having a hard time being that disciplined.
A lady in my bible study class told me yesterday that I was getting scrawny. I took that as a compliment. I told her that I had 25 or so to lose. She told me that I would look like a stick. I don't want to look like a stick but I feel that 140 would be a good number for me.
I feel so much better now that I have gotten 60 pounds off. I haven't walked much this week (aunt flo is here and I don't feel like doing anything when "she's" here). I walked 5 miles last monday though. I will try to squeeze in a 2 mile walk today.
up down, up down

170.0
The other day I weighed 168.6. My weight goes up down, up down, up down. I lose 1, gain 2. At least I am still losing though. I started walking 2 miles a day about 5 days a week. I have been walking a brisk pace (2 miles in 30 minutes), so hopefully I will see the numbers drop soon!
So Slooooooooowwwwww!!!

173 lbs.
I can't believe how slow it's been going lately. Very Discouraging! I try to not to complain though because at least I am not gaining weight. My hair has been falling out so bad for the past month or so. I guess I can deal with that. I sure hope that it stops soon.
Almost 4 months out

175 pounds
My weight loss has slowed waaaaayyyyyy down. I am so grateful that I am still losing though. I have now officially lost 52 pounds. My goal weight is 135-140. I will have to see how I feel when I get there. I have had a few drinks of diet dr. pepper a few times. I better nip that right in the bud. I know there is contraversy over soda but I don't want to be drinking it. I better get my "old" habits under control. They are starting to creep in a bit.
