I am 32 yrs. old & in the processing of getting everything together to send in to my insurance company. I am 5'3" & currently weigh 248 lbs. I am very outgoing & use to have alot of energy. I have a wonderful fiance, who has agreed to stand behind me all the way. He loves me like I am, but also understands my wanting to be healthy. My family is also very supportative & that helps so much. Now I just can't wait to be on the losing side & hopefully that will come soon!

I HAVE A DATE - JULY 6, 2004. All my paperwork was submitted to BCBS on May 28 & they notified Dr. Fernandez's office on June 4 that I had been approved. I was totally shocked. My luck isn't usually that good! I am so excited & so mixed with emotions. I am also so thankful to this website. I have researched this surgery for almost 2 years, but have only been on the website since Jan. 04. I have gotten so much information & it has all been so helpful. You can go anywhere & read about the surgery & what all goes on - but there is nothing better than having thousands of people that "have been there, done that" to talk to. A few months ago I found out that my Dr. has the same birthday as my only niece & July 6, 1996 was when I moved into my new home - I think these are 2 positive signs.

WOW! I can't not believe that it has now been a year since my surgery! Time has flown by! I am feeling fantastic & think that I don't look too bad either. :o) I started out in a size 22/24 & occassionally an 18/20. I am now wearing 8's & a few 10's. My weight started at 248 & is currently at 140. I am hoping to get to 135 & maybe even down between 125-130. I have not had any complications & never really dumped. A couple of times I have felt a little sick on my stomach, but nothing major.
My thighs, arms, tummy & saddle bags need a little help. But that will come in time. I would love to have plastics on all of those areas, but it will take time & depend on money.
I am so thankful that God has allowed me to make this journey & to have this surgery! It has really changed my life! I am also very thanful to my mom & to Craig for all their love & support. And Skylar has been one of my biggest cheerleaders! She tells me just about every day how good I look. And she loves taking pictures of me.
I guess I better go for now & get ready to leave my 1st job & go to the 2nd! FUN! FUN! God bless....
10-17-06 - I am now 2 yrs. & 3 mths. postop. I have gained a few pounds & I am weighing 135-140, up from 130-135. I really think that I would like to be 125-130, but honestly, I am not doing anything to try & get there. I still feel fantastic & do not regret this surgery at all. I can eat most anything that I want, just not a lot of it. I have found that if I want something, it is better for me to have a couple of bites of it rather than deprive myself of it totally. Still hoping that one day I can have plastics on my tummy & boobs but who knows when that will be possible. And the legs & arms may never get done. But I tell you one thing, I would much rather have the extra skin instead of the extra weight any day!!!
