Still Fighting 4.
This is the beginning of a long journey I started back in 1994, I am a proud mother of 4 beautiful children. 2 boys and 2 girls, 14 boy, 13 girl, 9 boy, and 18 months girl. My older three children are from my first marriage, it ended after 12 years. Now I am married to a wonderful man, that knows the meaning of unconditional love. He has said with or without the surgery my love for you will not change. I am very blessed. I want to have the WLS to help me live without pain. In 2001 I herniated L4/L5 disk in my back. Double bulge. Workers Comp still has not given me treatment (besides giving me powerful pills that no longer work). My history is pretty much the same as many of yours. I was a large child, always the biggest in class. I say I started to gain weight the day I was born. In the 6th grade (11 years old) I weighed 212. I remember a friend of mine saying you are really pretty for someone that weighs over 200 pounds, I was so taken back, I never told anyone what I weighed. I was large both times I got married. I actully weighed the same both times. I have been on every diet known to man plus I have tried every pill there is to lose weight, 5 medically supervised diet. Which I lost weight but gained it back as fast as I lost it plus some. My Dr once told me that I have a very slow metabolism and nothing we tried made it go faster. Basically I am a turtle when it comes to metabolism. I can lose a few pounds about 25 to 30 after that nothing. I get so depressed that I say forget it and gain everything back plus some. So nightly I pray that my insurance company will approve my WLS. I have read many profiles in the past few weeks and no one puts their height I am 5.8 to 5.9 1/2 depends on the height chart....lol.
