Laproscapic-Gastric Bypass - July 23rd was my day!

Jul 28, 2007

Family, its been a long time since I visited this site and I promise to stay connected since surely my story might helo someone else. Has my day on Monday, July 23rd and it was one of the easiest surgeries that I have had. See, I have had two children, and a total hysterectomy so the bypass and all of the prep beforehand was not as bad as what I have already endured. Added anticipation was evident as I have waited so long for the Cigna approval...by the time I got my surgery approval and date, I felt like a kid waiting on Christmas. I did so well, I got to come home a day earlier than I expected. Well, today is the fourth day and my tummy has reminded me that no matter how good I "think" I feel - it says HEY YOU-YOU STILL HAD SURGERY. So, I am taking it easy - drinking my liquid STUFF, and looking forward to my two week check-up so that I can earn the right to have my favoriate "applesauce". Mentally, I am "healing"... this is a fresh start -but I deserved it. To anyone out there getting ready or who has had the surgery are at home healing as well, lets stay connected - we are all "beautiful works in progress". Melanie (Synergy) Homebound for 6-8weeks
