Wow! So much has happened recently...
I am a 23 yr old female. I found out in April that I needed to have WLS because my NAFLD (non alcoholic fatty liver disease) was making my liver enzymes go out of control! They are so dangerously high that my PCP is afraid cirrhosis is looming in my near future if I don't get the surgery soon. I also have PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome), so weight loss hasn't been going so well either...but I'm sure you all understand that!
I am waiting for my insurance BCBS to come through with my help, but my surgeon has scheduled me already just in case for July 16, 2007. I am supposed to start Nursing School in August, so I'm hoping insurance will come through so I can get the surgery done and overwith in time to start school on time.
Anyways, I was web searching for support groups in my area of Missouri since my surgeon is in Arkansas...and the woman I called told me about this website so I decided to check it out. It's awesome!
