I finally had surgery on the 8th of June 2009.  I had to have my gallbladder removed and the doc discovered a large Hiatel Hernia that had to be repaired before the Realize band could be inserted.  I have been working on getting this surgery since 2006 anyway surgery went well and Doc Keith put my Realize Band in.  When I went in for my first fill he discovered the Port has flipped upside down, he said it had been infected and this caused the stitches to come loose so He could not fill it untill  I went back in surgery so he can repopsition the port .  I went to surgery again on  July 17.  I have been trying to get it to heal for weeks.  I went into office today they will  have to remove the port and let it heal up and later put a port back in.  What is to say that another port will cause the same reaction.  My body is obviously rejecting the port.  I don't know what to do, If I new this might happen I could have already  had gastric bypass.  I chose the band because I thought it would be less evasive.  Should I take the chance of rejecting another port or just take the band out?

I decided to go ahead and take the Band out after talking it over with my husband and Doctor I decided to get this healed up and try to get the RNY.  Hopefully sometime in January
