"Perfect for a snack when you don't feel like something too sweet. It is a saltier taste alternative which I think is quite delicious. It contains whole almonds, organic pretzel pieces, 9 grams protein, 200 calories. No High Fructose Corn Syrup, Dairy Free, Vit E, Iron, Magnesium . . . .7 grams Fat, saturated fat less than 1 gram, zero cholesterol. Chalk one up for Gary - the owner"
"The psychologist was very kind and went over my three pages of questions. Then I watched a video about the risks. It was hard to concentrate because the busy office staff was right there as was the waiting room. This waiting room is not the silent type. Everyone chats and is asking questions of the people who have had surgery - which is a good thing! I saw someone that felt great and someone that looked like the life had been sucked right out of her. Next, off to the nutritionist. She was also very nice and gave some details about the eating plan after surgery. Next, to meet Dr. Gazmuri who had just returned from vacation. He looked well rested and I was very impressed with him. He is very smart, friendly and understanding. I feel comfortable with him. He treated me with the respect I deserve as a human being. He went over all three pages of questions I brought with total knowledge and patience. He drew diagrams on a white board to make sure I could visualize what he was saying. He told me if I gain any weight between now and surgery, he will not do it. He wants to know that I am committed to this from this point on. No last hurrahs for me, which is fine. Next, I went down to the third floor to have blood drawn. Very small room with lots of people waiting. I happened to sit next to a guy with MAJOR B.O. Parking is fine although it cost $8 for the five hours I was there. I've been back a few times and my impression is still that this is a top notch place and I am more than happy to be getting my surgery from Dr. Gazmuri.
UPDATE: After being post-op for 3.5 months with zero complications, I developed a fistula connecting my old and new stomach. Dr. Gazmuri has handled this situation with total professionalism and compassion. This man is human! He ordered tests right away and has called me back fast every time I think of a question and call him. They do not know the reason this complication happens, but it does. I have a revision date scheduled 6/30/03 and have total confidence in Dr. Gazmuri."
"High carb, great taste (more like a rice crispie treat), but for me dangerous. I had two in one day just because they tasted good - can't keep these around."
"All of the nurses were really nice except one. There was one who thought since she was a nurse for 21 years, she didn't need to follow the rules for a post op bariatric patient. She wouldn't put the leg boots back on me if I had been up and about - oh, you don't need those. She was not at all sympathetic when I had some cramping. She just sort of stood at the door and said "Do you want pain relief or not?" Thank goodness I only had her one night. All else was very positive. "
