We woke up to a small snow here in NC, which of course is turning to freezing rain. It looks pretty, but then again, I fall down on dry floor! The white dog loved it; the dachshund just said "NO" and came back in.

I finally saw the ENT, who

Post holiday lesson. I can eat whatever I want, if I want to feel like crap. I had 4 potato chips and my stomach locked up like a fist! AND yes, I can have sweets but even though they don't cause weight gain, I felt dreadful.

So, back on tra

Good morning! Only one day till Halloween. Up early this morning for study time before meetings. I don't know how I had time to work and do things before I retired, lol.

Only 10 days till the arrival of the Great Pumpkin! I trust you are all ready to welcome him in your pumpkin patch.

QOTD: What's one (1) best life lesson you've learned that has helped you with self-compassion?

Another very early morning! After all these years of retirement, I still am "early to bed early to rise" and DH is late to bed, late to rise. And the dogs stay with him!

I do enjoy the meditation time with my coffee. I get most of my studying

As NC braces for Hurricane Michael's rain and wind later in the week, it is hot here - upper 80s. Praying for the people nearer the coast especially Fair Bluff & Lumberton, Conway and Aynor, where we still have family & friends and who were devastated

The dogs and husband could not sleep, so up at 4:00 am, and they've gone back to bed. Which doesn't work for me. Got some prep done for Thursday class, moderated on my board, and read.

Up early as oldest daughter is here overnight (she's got a class to administer in Mecklenburg County). So we've had the granddog plus our two dogs...and not a lot of sleep - dogs up and down, unrolling an entire roll of toilet paper, barking at imagina

Waiting on news of Hurricane Florence here in NC....we have family and friends (and property) all along the coast. Like watching a train heading your way while you are tied to the tracks! We will only get heavy winds and rains (and power outages) up

Wednesday and for those who work, half way to the weekend! We retired people have all weekends.

Have a class this morning and am more concerned about the drive (I haven't driven a lot the past 5 years) but also have a 4 hour solo trip tomorrow

For some reasons, I always like Tuesday....even when NCIS is not back on in the evening.

Coming up to my first year "surgiversary" on 10/5.

They did my labs, and once again they are all right in the middle of normal, except for cholesterol. Total was 123, bad was 39, good was 62. So for a 66 year old with CVA and CAD, absolutely s

Today I am a bit past 9 months. The VGS, despite some of the challenges (toad froth, ew) has been one of the best decisions I've made.

Best things:

  1. Down 84 lbs, and 60.5 inches
  2. All clothes lay flat on me (I'm kind of a

Its very short, but thick again -- I'm going to wear it like I mean it, as humidity and heat in NC has kicked in and wigs are dreadful.

So if you have hair loss, keep on with the protein, vitamins & biotin and it shall return!

Up early for no particular reason -- but to all of us, may today be a good one!

QOTD: Best memory of your mother, or being a mom (or not being one!)

I'll answer in the replies.

At this point, 1100 calories seems to be maintenance, with 1-2 lb up or down, seemingly depending upon how much liquid I get in. Doing well with chewable vitamins and biotin, and I can see tiny hairs growing back in the patches that are so very thin.<

All labs (13 of them) were in the middle of normal. A1C was perfect. Cholesterol under 100. Angina that was totally unmanageable is gone. (Well, and a lot of hair but grateful for go
