Reached Goal!

Jan 10, 2019

I'm sorry I haven't posted here in awhile! I'm currently actually passed my goal of 140 lbs, I currently weigh in the range of 132-135 lbs and have been managing to keep my weight at that range for a couple months now! I'm so excited and glad I made the decision to get the Gastric Sleeve done, it's been a journey but one well worth taking!

Entry #4: Home Stretch (5 months post-op)

Sep 24, 2017

I'm so happy that I got this sleeve done! I'm about 27 pounds away from the goal the doctor gave me and its only been 5 months out. I need to start working out to tone my new body and reduce the loose skin although my skin didn't loosen as bad as I thought it would being how overweight I was. I'm able to feel comfortable in my own skin now and can fit into cute shorts!

Entry #3: Month 3 Post-Op

Jul 12, 2017

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for me regarding nausea. I've had to take a round of Thymine shots twice now, but I'm still feeling sick. I can only keep one or two pieces of food down and mostly just liquids. My doctor suggested drinking warm tea in the morning to break up mucus which works somewhat, they also did a live leak test but everything went down normally. I have another appointment in a few weeks, hopefully I can sort this out since I'm still on track. I don't want my progress to stop due to feeling bad!

Entry #2: Day 26 Post-Op

May 23, 2017

It has been almost four weeks since my Gastric Sleeve. I'm still struggling with nausea, but my doctor prescribed a ten-day regimen of nausea shots that seem to be working. Protein intake is improving but I still need to do better. I've lost 21 pounds so far, the scale has slowed down but the inches have continued to drop! I've lost almost ten inches in my waist alone! I'm so happy I took this step. My birthday is also next Monday and though I still have to watch what I eat (soft foods right now) I plan to at least blow out some candles on my 21st even if I can't eat my cake!

Entry #1: Day 6 Post-Op

May 03, 2017

I've struggled from being underweight my early childhood, to average for two years, and then overweight ever since. I've tried Jenny Craig and while that worked, to an extent, it stopped working after a month (because even though I was following the exercise and food plan— I started gaining again). I was frustarated, my Mom had this same prodedure done back then and was now thinner than her 18 year old daughter. It was embarressing being the overweight sister and being called the older one, when actually I was three years younger. It took convincing and a lot of saving money, but I finally had my gastric sleeve done April 27th, 2017! Surprisingly they had not only found a hernia, but my stomach was actually the size of a full-grown man. So in a sense even when I had eaten I'd still be really hungry because my stomach was too big. So far I've lost 18.6 pounds since last thursday— and while I can't see a difference (yet) I can feel a difference!
