Weight issues are the story of my life.  I have been overweight since a child and have always struggled with obesity.  I have lost lots of weight and then gained it back.  I have soothed my pain with food.  I have gone to various support groups to help with my compulsive eating.  Yet, here I am waiting to have lap band surgery.  I had a friend have gastric bypass surgery in September 2006.  She is doing great.  Her insurance covered it but no such luck with me.  I have gone through the process of seeing the psychologist and the dietician.  I believe my surgeon is the best in the area.  I am scheduled to have surgery on 1/31/07.  As soon as I got approval I was ready to binge.  I'm struggling with food even now, a week before the surgery.  I have greatly reduced carbs from my diet and am exercising which are good things.   I am just taking one day at a time and doing the best I can.  Fortunately, I have a wonderful fiance who is supportive.  I am scare but hopeful.  Life is not a dress rehearsal and I want to begin living it to it's fullest.  It is sad that I'm 37 and now just beginning but at least I'm not 87!  My biggest health issues with the weight is lack of energy and I get tired very fast.  I hope those things will change quickly.  I have already noticed a difference since going to the gym and walking.  Please pray that my surgery goes smoothly and there aren't any complications.  It is great to be able to write here and know that I am not alone.

Well, it is now 2015 and I'm having revision surgery.  I lost and then gained back 100 pounds with the band.  Monday 5/18/15 is my new beginning day for  gastric bypass.  I am ready for my new life to begin.  Forgetting what lies behind and pressing on toward the goal!!
