I am 3 months post op and seem to have hit a slump with weight loss. Have stuck at 42 lbs since had esophagus dilated  Dec 21 and stopped daily protein shakes. I kinda feel like crap since not getting enough protein or fluids in. Any thoughts? I think I am going back on protein shakes for breakfast since I love them....

went to see dietician 7 weeks post surgery(Dec 27) and she suggested stopping protein shakes and maintain calories around 800 per day. How do you all do it? I am always feeling full and reach for protein foods first but cant make the 60-70 g/day goal! Not eating breads or pasta since they make me feel gross and overly full. An suggestions?

 Had lots and lots of trouble at about week four with eating post surgery. Got incredible back pain and nausea and vomiting every time I tried to eat solids. Had an endoscopy with dilation two weeks ago and have to go again tomorrow. Has anybody had this issue ? I am wondering how many times I have to go and get my oesophagus dilated

So it has been 16 days since my surgery and I am down 22 lbs. when I went for my 1 week check, I asked if they weigh me and they replied no-it dosen't matter. I am a little concerned that so much lost in short amt of time. Is this normal? On soft foods but still get stomach pain/cramps with chicken/crackers/etc that are on the list to eat. Any suggestions?

So had my surgery in Hamilton on Nov 8 and went home Nov 10. Had severe back pain from OR table (have history of back pain but so much worse). Am doing ok but having trouble with gas--can't seem to burp it up? Am on dissolvable lansoprazole twice daily. Any suggestions? Bought the protein shakes from costco but now dont like the taste-weird cause I didn't mind before, using protein powder now.

so I bought some calcium citrate pills and wow-are they ever big!!!! Any suggestions besides cutting them in half? What does everyone else take?

I cannot stand the vanilla optifast-thank goodness I only have to be on it for 1 week-surgery date Nov 8!!!!! Anyone interested in my vanilla packets?

 So just saw the dietician today and had a one on one. She said I am to go to the next step in the process which would mean to meet with the surgeon. She didn't have a timeframe but when I asked they said it could take 2 to 3 weeks before you hear about your appointment with the surgeon. Does anybody have any information  about how long it actually takes to see a surgeon? I was surprised that they couldn't give me an appointment today 

Went to see social worker and internist – they suggested that I get the gastric bypass as opposed to a bariatric sleeve. Does anybody have any situations like this?  Kind of had it in my head about the sleeve and now I wonder about the bypass. Any suggestions for where my head should be at?

kind of confusing how some appts are in different order at other hospitals. I am going to Hamilton-had orientation and pre dietician class...now seeing nurse next week. Not sure who will be next. Would be nice to see this "trio" that other hospitals have at one appt. Parking is ridiculous! Lol
