I’m almost there. I can’t believe I’ve made it this far without a single, even tiny cheat on Optifast. I’ll be so happy to have real food again in about 5 weeks. It hasn’t been as hard as I thought, though this last weekend we had kids and fr

so, when you folks are talking portion sizes, are talking volume or weight? 1 oz spinach has a lot more volume than 1 oz broccoli.

no one ever mentions lamb as protein. I love lamb, and almost never eat beef, so I’m wondering if I can have it after surgery/healing.

Down 6 pounds so far. I’m hardly ever hungry, and no cravings. Feeling a little tired, but the weight loss so far is getting me excited about the surgery on the 22nd. Any ambivalence I had is evaporating with every pound lost. Pounds I’ll never see

today I started optifast. Today is the first day of my Thin Life. Holy cow, this really is going to happen. Surgery in 3 weeks. I note 4 optifast a day is 900 calories. It will go down to 650 after surgery. I’m not so afraid of the surgery. I guess I

So, if you’re drinking 64+ ounces of water a day, how many times a day are you peeing?

and question 2, related to question 1, does the weight loss resolve stress incontinence, or am I going to have to live on the bathroom.

im up to 2+

where does one get SF flavours to make vanilla optifast more bearable?

I start optifast February 28. Surgery March 22. Wish it was over already. But I’ve gained 5 pounds since orientation in August. Yikes! I started off well keeping a food diary but I stopped after 6 weeks. I lost 5 pounds while keeping the food diary

My surgery isn’t till March 22 but I’m planning early. I went to GNC to look at unflavoured protein and I just didn’t know what to decide and the containers were huge. Seems like the choices are whey or pea protein . Something about the size of t

i am very lucky to have a GP who referred me without hesitation for wls. In fact, he referred me twice because I backed out the first time a couple years ago after orientation. But time and again I read on these boards about GP’s who “don’t belie

Yay! Met with the surgeon this morning and my surgery gate is March 22. And he’s able to do VSG , which I wanted and they are doing it in Kingston .

Very excited, but my knees feel weak.

I know I really want VSG and have my preop seminar tomorrow , when I get my date to meet the surgeon. In Ontario it can be difficult to get VSG under our socialized medicine system as RNY is the standard. So I checked out Dr A in Mexico and he has an o

So I know I really want VSG, but maybe can’t get it back Bader OHIP, so I thought why not look 👀 into Dr.A . He has an opening in 5 weeks, which is pretty exciting . But when I mentioned this to my husband he suddenly got all scared that I was goi

any idea if it’s difficult to get VSG in Ontario. My pre-op is Wednesday and then it’s meet the surgeon. When I met the internists he suggested VSG would possibly be preferred because of my age -66- and I’d really prefer VSG to RNY. Some Ontario

A little tip for those of you who might be having thinning hair. After I went through chemo I was on a couple drugs that blocked estrogen for 9 years, and it kept my hair rather thin on top. My hairdresser came up with a product called Sure Thik which

well hush my mouth and call me stupid. I don’t understand why after WLS we are more likely to become dehydrated than before surgery. Why so much more water than before surgery?
