Hi Kelly, It’s wonderful that you’re healing! However it’s got to be so difficult not to be able to take your normal meds and have to deal with the side effects that go along with thyroid surgery. On the occasion that I forget to take my thyroid medicine even one dose makes me gain approximately 1 pound and if I forget 2 doses per week I can gain up to 3.5 pounds! The good news is once I begin to take it again the weight seems to come off as quickly as it went on. So even though it’s scary to see the numbers on the scale go up you’re doing absolutely the right thing by listening to your doctors. If you’re anything like me you’ll be able to see it come off again soon and you’ll probably feel so much better physically and emotionally as well! Very best of luck for a wonderful future??
