Laura, Just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your surgery. May it be uneventful and your recovery speedy. Just think, it really is going to be a whole "new" year. A happy, healthier, thinner one at that!

Hi Laura! Congrats on your surgery date. Your story both saddened me (my condolences on the loss of your precious daughter) and lifted me up tonight. I had just read an email from my dearest & oldest friend in Houston, Tx who must now face the fact that her battle with colon cancer is almost over. She hopes to live to see me skinny---can you believe that! You mentioned you had started a new career---good for you! Now, getting that weight off will be the icing on the cake in your long recovery. You gained that weight as a means of survival---it cocooned you and soothed you. Now, it must go and you are ready to face this new challenge. I have no doubt you will do it. God bless you and may angels delicately sit on your shoulders through out all this! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Karen King, Athens, GA Open RNY 10/29/01

Have you ever seen the movie: THE WIZARD OF OZ??? Well, soon you will be saying what the wicked witch said when Dorothy threw a bucket of water on her: "I'M MELTING!! I'M MELTING!!!" Those lbs will just melt off of you soon. You will soon be walking down the YELLOW BRICK ROAD to see the WIZARD OF OZ and your sweetest wish will be granted. Congratulations and good luck to you. My husband and I both had our open rny's at Pacific Bariatric in San Diego in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 325 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laura, your day will soon be here. I am sure that it cannot come fast enough, right! Many have been down the path you are setting out on. We are all happy and healthier now than we have been in years! This is a GOOD thing you are doing for yourself! Remember the rules, protein first, water, and move around...follow them and you will be a big loser before you know it! All my best wishes to you on your upcoming day! May you have peace over your decision! Stacy
