Has anyone attended the monthly support groups for Humber RNYers? They're arranged by the SW. If so, have you found them helpful?

thanks

i had my RNY Surgery at Humber last week Friday. In the hospital I had to ask the nurse for the blood thinner injection. She said "Oh. They didn't ordered it for you. Let me go check." And it was in my room in about an hour. Case in point: if I

HI FRIENDS,

well I finally had RNY on Friday at HRRH. I had last minute cold feet and begged for a sleeve and Dr. Huynh said no. I think I pissed him off. But anyway. It took me a LONG time to wake up. They were concerned and the anestheti

Dear food:

im writing to tell you that I have to break up with you. For over 30 + years you have controlled me. You are the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I think about at night. I admit you were there for me thr

so I finally got approved by the trio and internest, but when I called Dr. Starr's office they informed me they're now booking into April. OMG, FML. Anyone else recently book a date or hear anything similar? If so, when is yours booked for at HRH?

so I was denied by the SW and the RD. I had too much junk food. It's gone way down from before but I didn't want to lie. So I get to go back in 4 to 6 weeks but with a 7 day log- yay.

How many if you actually made a load of changes? How man

hello friends,

i had my appt with Dr. G today and it went really well. He's very caring, down to earth and has your best interests at heart. He's also very patient and he answered all of my questions. Best of all, he has a great sense of hum

hi friends,

i have my trio appt coming up and am most worried about the nutritionist. What are they looking for in the log? What are they going to ask me? There is no way I am going to fail. I will even lie. There. I put it out

hello my HRRH mates, does Dr. Glazer insist on a sleep test for everyone? Just trying to figure out if I should get one done on my own with my family doctor so that there is no delay. I see Dr. Glazer at the end of August. Thanks!

Dr. Starr was awesome, caring, and warm. The receptionist with long hair and a nose ring was such a cold cow. She didn't like any questions, hated repeating herself, and did not acknowledge any thank yous. I just avoided her and went to the lady bes

Hello everyone. I'm meeting Dr. Starr very soon. I've had my orientation and this will be my first actual appointment. Will he be my actual surgeon? Sorry if it's a dumb question. Also, what can I expect at this appointment? I've read some bad rev

i had my orientation last week and I'm looking at food like "I can't have you soon so I'm going to eat you." Help! Sitting here totally ripped (stuffed). At this rate my BMI will go up a notch or two.

Lucile777 posted a discussion topic 6 years, 11 months ago

I just read that changes need to be made beginning immediately after orientation. I think I can do some things like kick my coke habit, walk more per week, cut out my caffeine, etc. What did you do.... or did you lie about it?

Lucile777 posted a discussion topic 6 years, 11 months ago

So I had my orientation at Humber today and the nutritionist who was presenting told us that we are the last group to receive 5 years post op care. I'm not too sure about the details other than the fact that the government was looking for ways to cut

Who is your surgeon?

Lucile777 posted a discussion topic 6 years, 11 months ago

After surgery I'd like to stay as long as possible because I have 2 kids that will want me and I want to have as long as possible to heal. Plus it will give the hubby a chance to help out! Humber btw.

hello, I'm pre-op. I'm considering RNY surgery. I love gulping water. First thing in the morning, after work, during work, etc. With only an egg sized pouch left behind, will I still be able to this? If not in the beginning, then when? Thanks!
