Hi! I have a weight problem that I have tried every diet under the sun to fix and no luck and I need to fix it or I won't live much longer and after fighting so hard to get to 60 I'd sure hate for life to end any time soon especially over obesity. I decided after doing my homework to get the VSG and I've passed all the stuff, I see the surgeon (Dr. Birkedal) last pre-visit on the 25th and my tentative surgery date has been set for June 18th, 2018! 6/20/2018 my surgery date is set for Monday the 25th!

I am a ruptured brain aneurysm survivor (13 years) which I followed 15-months later by open-heart surgery. They said on both that I'd die... surprise! It has been a LONG road but one I find worth every crawl, every step. I have 4 grown children, 7 grandchildren and I can't wait for the day I have great-grandchildren.

I think my biggest concern is my insurance I'm pretty poor and if it doesn't cover it all not sure how long it will take to save enough but so far so good. I have been following the daily meal logs trying to get an idea of what is working for those of you who have gone before me and hearing/reading about some of the struggles, it kind of help's to get a good idea of all sides of this journey. I guess I've quickly covered it lol I am pretty open if you have questions I left out. I will make one of those cute weight graft things once I figure out how.
