Hi all. I am scheduled to have my sleeve surgery January 12, 2018 at Endobariatric. I tried to get WLS back in 2013 but my insurance denied me. I called before starting the classes and was told my insurance covered it. Made it to all my required classes and did everything I was told to do just to find out a month from my surgery date I was denied. Now here is the kicker, I was denied because I did so well in my classes. I was one of the biggest losers in my group. Insurance stated that since I did so well I should try to continue doing it on my own. WHAT! You have got to be kidding me! To say the less I gained all but 10 back. I went from 273 to 239 during class. It was a struggle to get to 239. So here I am 4 years later but this time I am paying for it myself. I have been saving my pennies and ready to move forward. I could try insurance again but do not want to go through that rejection again. I think my husband is doing more research than I am. He is my bariatric guru. LOL We already started purchases items that I will need for afterward. I have been drinking Isopure protein drinks to get use to the taste. I found another protein drink that has only 20g of protein and it taste pretty darn good. I know it is less than Isopure but if it helps me get in the liquids so be it. I look forward to talking to and getting advice from my fellow sleevers. Ta Ta for now.
